The last few days

First, I apologize for the great delay between posts. The semester started yesterday, and it's been a bit busy leading up to it. Last Saturday I drove to see my parents where they are camping for a while in the Adirondacks. Their campsite is beautiful, and right on a lake. Absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately I've been under the weather since Friday, and classes were starting, so I didn't stay for more than a few hours. But I managed some kayak time, and some swimming time in the lake!

This weekend I'll head back there for some more adventures, and hopefully a great deal more swimming and kayaking, and pictures! I've heard the stars shine off of the lake at night. I can't wait to try and capture that.

I must say I've missed camping a great deal. It's not the same coming back to my place now, as it was when I was camping. I can't just bike up to the registration booth to hang out with Hannah and cause a ruckus. But in any case, there's something that causes a great deal of peace in my heart, being there. Partially for the area, the ambience, the stars, the birds, the people, the new friends, the water nearby, the biking. I'm going to try and continue biking every day, because it gives me that peace. And taking nature pictures every day. I need those too, and that time to thoroughly immerse myself in nature. I love that.

Well I've got to do some work before class tonight. Today's quote has a lot to do with missing places, people, and feelings:

Gone - flitted away,
Taken the stars from the night and the sun
From the day!
Gone, and a cloud in my heart.
-Alfred Tennyson
